I have no idea what's going on
But let's find out
October 2022 - The 6th Donn, TX story is now out. While I say it is the 6th, these stories can be read in any order. Each one takes place in a specific year and gives the reader a peek into the mythology of Donn, TX while also giving them a stand-alone story. If you like connecting the dots and finding Easter eggs, read them all. If you just want a good extreme tale, each one will serve that purpose while also sprinkling in tons of other fun horror elements.
February 2022 - Donn, TX is going strong. There are 5 tales available now - 1952, 1969, 1865, 1926, & 2002. I have been asked to participate in a few anthologies, and as they become available I'll be sure to share where you can get them. I'm working on a couple of secret projects and will share more details once I have the green light. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who supports me on the site, through your encouraging words on Facebook, and by purchasing/reading my books as they come out. Means a lot to me.
September 2021 - The Donn, TX Collection begins with 2 entries: 1952 & 1969. More years will follow every month or two so keep your eyes peeled for more information.
To celebrate the series, I'm making all my books available on Kindle Unlimited starting this month. If you've been waiting to check out The Sins of the Past, The Pope Lick Massacre, or The Shadow Within now is the time to head over to Amazon and check them out.
Joining The Shadow Within on audiobook this month is The Pope Lick Massacre. I'm finishing up the screening and hope to have it approved and available before the end of the month. You will also find audiobooks of all the Donn, TX stories around the time the eBooks are released.
February 2021 - My 3rd novel The Sins of the Past is available on Kindle and Paperback. I have a number of short stories that will be appearing in anthologies throughout 2021. I will share them as they become available. The 2nd serial has come to an end and while I will continue to share short stories, the world of Ephraim Godwin will be primarily visited in book form. In the next couple of weeks, I will share with you my plans for a new serial. Stay safe and as always, thanks for your continued support.
August 2020 is winding down and it's been a super bizarre year to say the least. I have 2 western-action-horror short stories on Amazon's Kindle Unlimited program. Click here for The Skin Walkers and here for To Stare Death in the Eyes Part one.
It’s May 2020 and my 2nd novel, The Pope Lick Massacre, is out for purchase. As the Ephraim Godwin serial runs weekly, I will begin to package these chapters into a novelette series available on Kindle and possibly paperback – still working on the designs. I want to say thanks for stopping by and ready my weekly posts. It means a lot to me. If you want to see ways you can help the Independent Writer, please visit my new page.
Original Opening - I am in my 40s and recently quit my job of 20 years to take care of my ill son and to pursue my love of writing. Within this blog, I hope to cover all the ups and downs I will face as I go from unpublished to published writer, while facing the challenges of being a stay-at-home dad to a teenager battling Crohn's and colitis. Along the way, I'll spout off on pop culture and revisit the entertainment that made me the person I am today. My writing primarily falls under horror but I hope to branch out to other genres as I travel down this path.
